Even though it is unlikely for "Rush Hour 4" to go into production this year — meaning filming might start next year with a summer 2024 release at the latest — fans have begun making suggestions for the cast and crew.

Upon seeing the news of the fourth film, one Twitter user tweeted, "Rush hour 4 in works??? truthfully, I hope they keep a tinge of racial jokes in there like w the other 3 movies, or else I don't want it lmao cause it was never offensive, everyone laughed."

A second person claimed they were praying that "this era of movies isn't too sensitive towards a Rush Hour 4," asking others to "imagine Rush Hour without the comedic racism." One YouTuber expressedsome hope that "Rush Hour 4 is good" because "we need good comedy movies again."

Another Twitter user chimed, "I don't need a Gen Z version [of] Rush Hour 4. Give me that wild and cancellable 90s sh*t," and a fifth told the scriptwriters to keep"Rush Hour 4" if it "ain't as outta pocket as 1 and 2."

A potential viewer mentioned, “It’s gonna be so f*cking funny when the tone of Rush Hour 4 changes DRASTICALLY because they’re not gonna use all a script full of micro aggressions in 2025.”

Meanwhile, one fan was more concernedthat the film "ain't gon hit cuz the second they make a racist joke cancel culture is gonna get butthurt."

Chan addressed the possibility of the fourth movie in the "Rush Hour" series during a rare on-stage appearance at the Red Sea Film Festival on December 9. After informing the audience that "we're talking about part 4 right now," the martial artist disclosed that he had a meeting with the project's director later that evening to talk about the script.

Although he avoided naming said director, it is worth noting that film producer Brett Ratner directed the first three parts of the film series. Unfortunately, Ratner has not sat in the director's chair for almost a decade.

According to Deadline, seven women — including actresses Natasha Henstridge and Olivia Munn, accused him of sexual misconduct and harassment, prompting Warner Bros. to end their lucrative partnership with the producer-director.

While "Rush Hour" was released on September 18, 1998, its sequel followed on August 3, 2001, and the third part dropped on August 10, 2007.
